BLUE RAY FILTER (BRF) MATERIAL

An advanced lens treatment that protects from natural and artificial light sources such as computer displays, TVs, smartphones, tablets, and more.

ARTIFICIAL LIGHT SOURCES EFFECTS

Digital devices and displays emit a high-energy, visible blue light. Thanks to advanced lens substrates and coating technology, PRIVO BRF locks up to 98% of harmful blue light between 400nm – 435nm, up to three times more than standard clear lenses.

Why is it important for your eyes?

Tired and dry eyes, eye strain, insufficient visual contrast, and headaches are symptoms of prolonged blue light exposure; all of which increase the risk of macular degeneration and retinal disease.

Children are more susceptible to overexposure of blue light than adults because their eyes are not fully developed and are more transparent. This results in less protection from the harmful effects of UV and blue-violet light.

Exposure to Blue light during the day

Sleeping

Decreases in melatonin cause a disruption of the sleep cycle.

Fatigue

Eye strain, tired eyes, dry eyes, and might be symptoms of long exposure to blue-violet light.

AMD

Part of the blue light was recently identified as harmful to our retina. It can accelerate the appearance of AMD (Age-related Macular Degeneration).

CATARACT

UV light is dangerous to our eyes as they are to our eyes as well. Its effect accumulates over our lifetime, accelerating eye aging and the appearance of the eye’s lens Cataract.

TRANSMATIC

TRANSMATIC Photochromic lenses accommodate a fast color change whenever you go from indoors to outdoors, and vice versa. Plus, the lenses reduce glare and filter out harmful UV 400 light. TRANSMATIC lenses also offer optimum vision, comfort, and protection all day long.

How do TRANSMATIC lenses work?

TRANSMATIC lenses contain photochromic dyes, which cause the lens to darken when exposed to UV rays from sunlight. Once the UV light diminishes, the lens fades back to clear. When outdoor light conditions change, the lens’s level of darkness adjusts as well, creating just the right amount of tinting and allowing the right amount of light to enter the eyes. The higher the UV, the darker the lens gets. The lower the UV, the lighter it becomes.

Features & Benefits
  • The TRANSMATIC UV filter blocks 100% of UV 400 rays
  • Highly recommended for those who spend much of their time both in and outdoors
  • Suitable for all age groups and prescriptions

POLARIZED

Light travels in all directions and reflects randomly off shiny surfaces such as snow, cars, and buildings, producing glare. Glare reduces vision quality as the eye’s perception of color and contrast changes. Hence, Polarized lenses provide better vision and comfort when outdoors
